# Delete an account or company

> Verify subscription renewal, confirm deletion and keep the private status receipt.

## Before you begin

Only owners can delete companies. Before deleting your personal identity, delete the companies you own: ownership cannot be transferred.

> **Watch out** — Confirmation ends access and remaining paid time immediately. Sparks are not converted, and no refund is promised. Company deletion removes its resources and memberships; members keep their personal identities.

## Open the confirmation screen

| Account to delete | Confirmation screen |
| --- | --- |
| Personal | **Account** → **Delete account** in web or mobile. |
| Company | **Settings** → **Workspace** → **Delete company** in the authenticated dashboard. |

Mobile sends business owners to the dashboard. Chat and MCP can link these screens but cannot submit deletion.

## Verify renewal and confirm

1. Review the affected members, apps and subscriptions.
2. Open the provider's subscription management screen.
3. Turn off renewal with Stripe or Google, if applicable.
4. Return to Botchi and select **Verify cancellation**.
5. Read and accept the deletion acknowledgement.
6. Confirm deletion only after the checks allow it.

| Provider situation | Requirement |
| --- | --- |
| Stripe or Google renewal active | Disable renewal and verify again. |
| Stripe or Google renewal unknown | Confirmation stays blocked until verification succeeds. |
| Paid time remaining, renewal disabled | You can delete immediately; paid time does not delay deletion. |
| Apple purchase | **Delete anyway** requires a separate acknowledgement that Apple may keep charging. |

Botchi automatic top-ups and internal app renewals stop as part of deletion.

## Follow the receipt

Keep the private receipt link. Deletion continues on the server after you close the client, and the link works after sign-out.

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| In progress | The request was accepted; deletion is not yet complete. |
| Completed | The deletion process has completed. |
| Needs attention | The process requires attention; consult the receipt. |

Financial records and minimal markers preventing deleted data from being recreated may be retained. Database backups expire on their own schedule: daily backups after 7 days, hourly backups after 45 days. Provider logs follow their retention schedules.
