# Conversations, files and voice

> Start fresh, find earlier messages and shared media, share files and steer work in dashboard, personal and agent chats.

These controls apply to dashboard, personal and agent chats. Web and mobile share sessions and history.

## Start a new session

1. Open the conversation you want to reset.
2. Select **New session**.
3. Confirm the new session.

The AI starts fresh; earlier messages and attachments remain. Sessions sync across devices and never reset automatically overnight.

Reading history never reactivates requests or approvals. The Assistant checks live state before changes.

Drafts survive navigation within chat or dashboard, but clear on refresh, leaving that area or switching accounts.

## Find messages

Every chat can be searched: personal, agent and dashboard. Search matches the words of messages and the names and extracted text of attachments; tool activity does not count. On the web, start from the magnifier in the chat header; on mobile, from the Assistant's or agent's sheet. The counter and arrows move between matches across the whole history, earlier sessions included.

## Media, files and links

**Media, files and links** collects a chat's photos and videos, files and links, newest first. Open it from the profile panel on the web, or from the Assistant's or agent's sheet on mobile. Select an item to open it, or **Go to message** to jump to where it was shared.

## Attach files

1. Select **+** to choose files, or drag them into the web conversation.
2. Add a message explaining what you want Botchi to do with them.
3. Send the message.

| Attachment | Limit |
| --- | --- |
| Files per message | 4 |
| Video file | 12 MiB each |
| Other uploaded file | 8 MiB each |
| Personal/agent voice message | 64 MiB each |
| Personal/agent attachments combined | 80 MiB per message |

Photos attached in any chat are saved as their original file. AI models read a copy of at most 1600 px on the long side. Formats AI models cannot read, such as HEIC, are saved as JPEG, and a photo over the 8 MiB limit is reduced only as much as it needs to fit. GIFs are sent unchanged. Files uploaded directly to Workspace keep their original format.

Dashboard attachments go to your own folder under chat-attachments/ in Workspace. Viewers can upload there without wider write access. Other chats follow their own file permissions.

In the dashboard Assistant, **Attach Workspace files** selects existing files. Copying a Workspace file into your personal files requires approval. Edits or deletion of the original do not affect that copy.

Attachments staged while answering a question or approval remain in the draft for your next message.

## Dictate or talk

1. Select the microphone to record.
2. Select **Stop and transcribe** to create a draft.
3. Select **Send** to submit dashboard dictation, or **Send voice message** in personal and agent chats.

If realtime voice is enabled, select **Talk** with an empty composer to start a conversation. Approve actions through the chat controls. Sessions last up to 25 minutes; you can start another afterward. Ending voice releases the microphone while accepted work continues.

See [workspace settings](/en/docs/settings) for realtime voice availability, consent and separate duration charges.

## Steer or stop work

Send messages while Botchi works. They stay **Queued** until read before a later step or answered automatically next. Order and attachments are preserved; already-started actions continue without repetition.

In personal chats waiting for tool approval, approve, deny or stop before sending another message. Retry failed sends from their message.

Select **Stop response** to end the current turn, including queued messages. You can then send a new message.

> **Watch out** — Stopping does not undo completed actions or stop independent background tasks already launched. Usage already consumed still counts.

| Conversation | Maximum AI steps per turn or run |
| --- | --- |
| Personal assistant | 24 |
| Account agent | 120 |
| Dashboard Assistant | 120 |

One step can call several tools; the last is reserved for a reply explaining completed and remaining work. Time limits can stop work earlier.
