# Builder and preview statuses

> Find the meaning of preview labels and the action that recovers each problem.

## Builder checks

Code checks do not test clicks or runtime speed. **Updated** confirms that the preview acknowledged the checked revision; you still need to try important actions yourself.

| Label | Meaning | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Editing live** | The builder is changing the preview source. | Wait, then test the checked result. |
| **Checking…** | Saved source is being verified. | Wait for the outcome. |
| **Fixing a problem…** | A check failed and the builder is repairing it. | Wait; automatic repair stops after three failed checks. |
| **Updating preview…** | Checks passed, but the preview has not confirmed that revision. | Wait; use **Reload preview** if offered. |
| **Updated** | This preview confirmed the verified revision. | Test your user journeys. |
| **Saved, not verified** | Saved changes lack a completed check. | Choose **Ask the builder to continue**. |
| **Needs attention** | Verification failed, repairs stopped, source changed elsewhere, or the browser reported an error. | Open **Details** and use the matching recovery action below. |

## Preview availability

| Label | Meaning | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **No live preview** | No active preview session. | Open the preview to start it. |
| **Starting live preview…** | A preview session is starting. | Wait for **Live** or checked-version status. |
| **Live** | The live session is ready without a specific revision-check status. | Check the app's behavior. |
| **Paused** | The preview stopped, including after inactivity. | Choose **Resume**. |
| **Preview unavailable** | Startup, loading or access failed. | Open **Details**; choose **Retry**, or request the offered code fix. |
| **App functions failed** | Preview function updates failed. | Choose **Ask the builder to fix**. |
| **Browser feature unavailable** | A script requested an unsupported browser feature. | Choose **Ask the builder to investigate** to identify the source. |

The previous verified preview stays available when possible. Browser errors do not automatically start a paid repair.

## Startup progress

These labels describe work in progress, not choices you need to make.

| Label | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Preparing the preview environment** | Preparing a new session. |
| **Reading the app source** | Loading saved files. |
| **Starting the sandbox** | Starting the preview environment. |
| **Installing dependencies (first start only)** | Preparing the app's required packages. |
| **Preparing the dependency cache (first start only)** | Saving prepared packages for later starts. |
| **Copying the app source** | Loading files into this preview. |
| **Starting the dev server** | Starting the app. |
| **Warming up the app** | Preparing its first screens. |
| **Deploying app functions** | Preparing its record operations. |
| **Applying the latest edits** | Catching up with saved changes. |
| **Updating app functions…** | Applying changed record operations. |
| **Connecting to the live preview…** | Connecting this frame to the live session. |

## Recovery actions

| Action | Use it when |
| --- | --- |
| **Ask the builder to fix** | Saved source or app functions failed checks. |
| **Ask the builder to investigate** | The browser reports an error whose cause needs identification. |
| **Ask the builder to redo the change** | Files changed outside the session and its edits were not saved. |
| **Ask the builder to continue** | A saved change remains unverified. |
| **Reload preview** | The frame has not confirmed the update or needs reloading. |
| **Retry** | Starting or loading the session failed. |
| **Resume** | The session paused. |
